Austin Meadows continues to rake since coming to Durham.

Austin Meadows continues his hot run since coming over in the Chris Archer trade. Meadows hit his 7th double and 4th homer and is hitting .333/.365/.729 in 52 plate appearances with the Durham Bulls. Chih-Wei Hu (Durham) and Resly Linares (Bowling Green) put up strong scoreless outings.

Triple-A Durham Bulls (67-52)

The Durham Bulls defeated the Lehigh Valley IronPigs 2-0. Chih-Wei Hu put together one of his best starts of the year going 5.1 scoreless allowing six hits while striking out seven and walking nobody. Austin Meadows put the Bulls on the board with a solo homer in the top of the third and would add a double in the eighth and would score the second run for the Bulls.

Prospect Note: In his 13 games since joining the Durham Bulls, Austin Meadows has 7 doubles and 4 homers in 52 plate appearances compared to 13 doubles and 2 homers in 157 plate appearances while with the Indianapolis Indians this year.

Double-A Montgomery Biscuits (68-54)

The Montgomery Biscuits defeated the Jackson Generals 4-0 in the completion of a game that was postponed on August 1. It’s been over a month since the starter Dalton Moats has recorded more than six outs in a game with some of the work coming as an opener and some as a reliever. In this case he opened for the two innings on August 1 before the game was postponed by rain. He threw the next two innings throwing the third and fourth innings after the game resumed. So he opened for himself in an odd bullpen game. Michael Brosseau got the Biscuits on the board with a two run homer in the fourth. Nick Solak picked up two singles and a RBI.

Robbie Tenerowicz came through with a two run double in the eighth inning after Brusdar Graterol, the Minnesota Twins top pitching prospect and top 100 candidate, left the the game.

Resly Linares put together his best start of the year going 7.0 scoreless innings allowing only two hits while striking out seven and walking none. In five of Linares’s past six starts he has allowed one earned run or fewer. Offensively Carl Chester led the way with a double and triple. Zach Rutherford added a homer.

Rookie Hudson Valley Renegades (33-23)

The Hudson Valley Renegades fell to the Staten Island Yankees 5-3. Tommy Pham made quick work of his rehab assignment picking up three hits in his first three plate appearances including a homer. Pham has been activated and will be on the roster for tomorrow’s afternoon game in New York. Pham was responsible for all the offense by either driving in or scoring all three runs. Jacson McGowan collected two hits.
