Jesus Sanchez was promoted to Double A Friday and made his debut for Montgomery. He played well for Charlotte, and a new level will be a good test for him. We’ll see if he’ll have to refine his plate approach against tougher pitching.

Right-handed pitcher Blake Bivens is also on the move up to Montgomery.

Triple-A Durham Bulls (61-46)

Durham hit four home runs in a 6-4 win over Charlotte. Andrew Velazquez’s two-run homer in the first opened the scoring, and Micah Johnson’s solo shot in the fifth broke a 2-2 tie. Nick Ciuffo hit a two-run home run in the sixth, and Johnson went deep again to lead off the seventh. Ryan Weber allowed two runs in four-plus innings.
