Rob Refsnyder and Nathaniel Lowe homer for the Durham Bulls on the way to tying the best of five Governor’s Cup over the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Railriders (Yankees AAA) at 1-1. Austin Pruitt goes 6.0 scoreless.
Moises Gomez and Trey Hair homer for Bowling Green on the way to winning game one of the Midwest League Championship Series over the Peoria Chiefs. Tobias Myers throws 5.0 scoreless innings.
Triple-A Durham Bulls (79-60)
The Durham Bulls defeated the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Railriders 5-2. Kean Wong led the game with a walk ahead of a moonshot over the left field wall from the bat of Rob Refsnyder. Refsnyder spent parts of the last four years playing for the Railriders and hit his second homer of the series. Austin Pruitt held the Railriders scoreless on three hits through 6.0 innings. In the ninth inning Nathaniel Lowe added a two-run homer to extend the lead to 5-0. Colin Poche picked up the three inning save allowing two runs in the bottom of the ninth. The Bulls tied the series at 1.

The Bowling Green Hot Rods defeated the Peoria Chiefs 4-0 in the first game of the Midwest League Championship Series. Tobias Myers held the Chiefs offense scoreless over 5.0 innings working around three hits and three walks. Jim Haley led off the second inning with a double and came around to score on a Trey Hair sacrifice fly to put the Hot Rods up 1-0. Moises Gomez and Hair hit homers in a three-run fourth inning to extend the lead to 4-0. Tyler Day and Matt Seelinger completed the shutout with 2.0 scoreless innings a piece.
Prospect Note: Vidal Brujan was the first overall pick in the Dominican Winter League draft by the Toros del Este.
