Rays prospects and winter leagues: Rays impress in Fall Stars Game

It was the busiest week yet of the offseason. Half of the Rays’ Arizona Fall League contingent played in Saturday’s Fall Stars Game, and Liga de Béisbol Profesional de la República Dominicana got underway — that means Wander Franco’s winter ball season has begun.

Hitters

2B Vidal Brujan, Arizona Fall League

Brujan’s hitting streak finally ended at 12 games. He was 1-for-2 with a strikeout in the Fall Stars Game.

SS Wander Franco, Liga de Béisbol Profesional de la República Dominicana

Offseason: 4 AB, .250/.250/.250

Franco played shortstop and led off in his team’s season opener.

C Ronaldo Hernandez, AFL

This week: 9 AB, 3 R, 4 H, 2 2B, 1 HR, 2 RBI, 3 K
Offseason: 26 AB, .346 BA/.393 OBP/.577 SLG

Hernandez has hits in six of his eight games this offseason and had three extra-base hits last week. He was 0-for-1 in the Fall Stars Game.

Lowe is on a five-game hitting streak with two hits in four of those five games. He has four extra-base hits in that streak. He hit an RBI double, scored, and stole a base in the Fall Stars Game.
