While we eat turkey, let’s look back on one heck of a season.

Happy Thanksgiving, DRaysBay readers! Or as I like to call it in Canada: Thursday!

While you all gather with your loved ones for good eats and hopefully good company, we thought it might be nice to take time on the website to reflect on all the things that Rays fans have to be thankful for.

This is meant to be an open thread rather than a traditional FanPost prompt, so feel free to just jump into the comments and share what makes you thankful, either for the Rays, for the site, or just in general.

Personally, I could make an endless list of things I’m thankful for when it comes to the Rays. I’m thankful for walk-off wins, for Ji-Man Choi’s dancing, and for the steady rise of Willy Adames.

I’m thankful for Kevin Kiermaier’s outfield catches, for Austin Meadows’ rookie domination, and for Shane Baz’s delightful Twitter presence.

I’m thankful for a team that took a chance on Travis d’Arnaud, which paid off in the second half of the year. A team that saw the value of signing Avisail Garcia, whose right field presence was a delight. The same team who got Charlie Morton, a pitcher who is aging as well as a fine wine, so well he got votes alongside former Astros teammates in this year’s Cy Young awards.

I am thankful for the unstoppable will of Tommy Pham, who won’t let things as small as broken bones stop him from taking the field day after day.

I am thankful for the postseason, for an intense Wild Card win and a nail-biting ALDS.

I am thankful that this seems more like the beginning than the end of a window.

And more than anything, I am thankful for you, DRaysBay readers. You are smart, funny, engaging, and constantly make us work hard to bring you the best Rays reporting we can. Thank you all.
