An always popular subject with the Tampa Bay Rays, MLB Trade Rumors has published their annual arbitration projections for the 280 eligible players this offseason, 9 of whom belong to the Tampa Bay Rays

  • Mike Zunino - $4.9MM (3rd and final year)
  • Matt Duffy - $2.9MM (3rd and final year)
  • Tommy Pham - $8.6MM (2nd year)
  • Chaz Roe - $2.2MM (2nd year)
  • Jesus Aguilar - $2.5MM (1st year)
  • Guillermo Heredia - $1.1MM (1st year)
  • Oliver Drake - $1.1MM (1st year)
  • Tyler Glasnow - $1.9MM (1st year, super two)
  • Daniel Robertson - $1.1MM (1st year, super two)

There are a couple of players who are locked to be tendered contracts, some on the bubble, and several who will most likely be non-tendered following the deadline on December 2nd; however, there could be some moves made prior to that deadline, as teams have until November 20th to add their Rule 5 draft eligible players to the 40-man roster and the Rays may look to shed some of their arb-eligible players.

In years past, the Rays have certainly been among the more active teams in November dealings, last year acquiring Zunino and Heredia in a deal that sent Mallex Smith to the Seattle Mariners along with pending 40-man addition Jake Fraley.

So, as the days mercilessly crawl by at a snail’s pace, keep a look out for any Rays rumblings on the hot stove. Something could happen!
