Rays hire Jeff Sullivan

When the Rays poach your site’s favorite writer from the internet, is that cause for celebration or depression?

Gone will be the musings of former SB Nation and FanGraphs writer Jeff Sullivan, as he’s accepted a role with the front office of the Tampa Bay Rays exactly one-year-to-the-day I wrote an article titled: Praise for Jeff Sullivan: the one national writer who gets it.

That article came at a time when Sullivan was praising the quality of the front office’s decisions while others claimed the Rays were a disgrace to the sport.

What I said then holds true: The man gets it.

Congrats to Jeff Sullivan and the front office — a marriage sure to not need a honeymoon phase — and Go Rays.
