As if you thought catching a home run ball at the Trop wasn’t good enough, the Tampa Bay Rays are bringing back a little known, but spectacular promotion.

Once again, any fan retrieving a Rays home run ball at Tropicana Field during the regular season can get it autographed by the player who hit it before leaving the ballpark…no other major league team boasts that feature.

During the 2018 season, the Tampa Bay Rays launched 69 home runs at Tropicana Field, giving fans 69 nice opportunities to receive autographs for this nice promotion.

CJ Cron provided the most opportunities last season, with 11 home runs hit at the Trop, with the duo of Willy Adames and Jake Bauers being the next closest with 7 home runs apiece.

In Tropicana Field history, Evan Longoria owns the most home runs as he slugged a total of 129 home runs during his time with the Rays.

The 2019 regular season commences on Thursday, with the Rays opening a four game set with the Houston Astros at Tropicana Field. First pitch will be at 4:05 on March 28th, with Blake Snell taking on Justin Verlander.

Hopefully the Rays will give fans plenty of opportunities over those four games and the 81 in total at the Trop to receive plenty of autographs over the course of the year.
