Rays came into today looking to sweep the Chicago White Sox in a 3 game series, but first we need to see if we are even going to have a game today.

Game time was supposed to start at 2:10 PM but after a brief delay, we started at 3:45 PM with a temperature of 38 degrees and winds of up to 14 MPH.
The cold, gloomy temperature wouldn’t effect the Rays bat however, as Tommy Pham hit his first HR.

Brandon Lowe was able to get on base and Avisail Garcia singled him home, and the Rays were quickly up on the White Sox 3-0 after 1 inning.
The cold didn’t bother Tyler Glasnow anyways, as he was able to do this:
97 mph and a nasty hook.

That's not fair, @TGlasnow. pic.twitter.com/xepqpEis6L
Tyler Glasnow would go 6.0 IP with 2 H, 1 BB, 0 R, and a career high 11 strikeouts. Only 85 pitches thrown, with 54 of those being thrown for strikes.

The Austin Meadows Show Series
After going 4 for 5 yesterday with 4 RBIs, Austin Meadows continued his dominant start to the year, hitting his 4th HR of the year.

Meadows also had a 2 run double in the 5th inning to make it 8-0 Rays. And if that wasn’t enough Tommy Pham got in on the phun with another HR today, right after Meadows’

6 out of the Rays’ 8 Runs were supplied by Meadows & Pham. It got so bad that the White Sox just stopped throwing Austin Meadows’ pitches he could hit

Jaleen Beeks would take over for Glasnow and throw 3.0 total innings with only 4 H, 1 R, 1 BB and 3Ks.
Another run would come with a Willy Adames double that would score Mike Zunino from 2nd and make it 9-0 Rays. Mike Zunino’s 116.1 MPH Exit Velocity would be the 1st and 2nd highest of the game. Eight out of the Ten leaders in Exit Velocity for the day would be Rays.
Beeks would come out for the 9th and give up one run with a few hits, but that would be it. Glasnow and Beeks would help keep the bullpen well rested and finish the sweep of the White Sox. Final score: Rays 9, White Sox 1.
Rays have a day off tomorrow, but will look to continue their hot start with a 3 game series in Toronto on Friday. The Rays will send Opener/Bulk guy against Blue Jays prospect Trent Thorton. Game time is 7:07 EST.
