Brendan McKay made his season debut picking up 11 strikeouts in 4.2 innings. Wander Franco picked up his first triple of the season. Shane McClanahan couldn’t get out of the first inning.

The Durham Bulls had a scheduled offday ahead of their home opener on Thursday.
Double-A Montgomery Biscuits (2-3)
The Montgomery Biscuits fell to the Biloxi Shuckers 4-3. Lucius Fox got going quickly with a leadoff triple and scored on a RBI groundout by Josh Lowe to take a 1-0 lead. In the bottom of the second the Biscuits took a 2-0 lead on a Rene Pinto RBI single. The Shuckers responded with three runs in the third and fourth frames to take the 3-2 lead. The Biscuits responded with a Thomas Milone RBI single in the bottom of the fourth to tie the game at three. Brendan McKay made his first start of the season and struck out 11 in 4.2 innings while allowing three runs. A walk and two hit by pitches in the ninth led the Shuckers to taking a 4-3 lead on a balk.

Class A-Advanced Charlotte Stone Crabs (3-4)
The Charlotte Stone Crabs lost to the Bradenton Marauders 2-1 in extras. The Stone Crabs got on the board first on a RBI groundout by Moises Gomez with the bases loaded in the sixth inning. The Marauders tied the game in the seventh. Ronaldo Hernandez was picked off second base (runner starts at second in extras) to start the tenth, and the Marauders took advantage of their runner placed at second with a game winning single with runners on the corners.
Prospect Note: Vidal Brujan made his first appearance at shortstop since 2015 when he split time between shortstop, second base, and third base. He made no appearances outside of second base the last three seasons.

The Bowling Green Hot Rods were shutout by the Lake County Captains 7-0. Shane McClanahan couldn’t make it out of the first allowing three runs and walking three batters while only picking up one out. The Hot Rods fell behind 5-0 after two innings. The highlight of the night for the Hot Rods was a triple by Wander Franco.
