Rays prospects and minor leagues: Fleming, Biscuits shut down Biloxi

Double-A Montgomery Biscuits (4-3)

Montgomery shut down Biloxi again in a 7-1 win Friday. For the first time since Wednesday, the Shuckers got on the board, but they were already trailing 5-0. Already leading 1-0, the Biscuits scored four times in the fourth. Kevin Padlo and Josh Lowe each hit RBI doubles in the big inning. Josh Fleming struck out four in six one-run innings, and Blake Bivens finished the game with three perfect innings.

Charlotte allowed five unanswered runs in a 6-2 loss to Palm Beach. Jim Haley’s RBI single in the bottom of the fifth gave the Stone Crabs a 2-1 lead, but Palm Beach struck back for three in the top of the sixth. Tanner Dodson opened with an unearned run allowed in three innings, and the next five runs were charged to Tobias Myers, who pitched 3 13 innings.

Bowling Green rallied for a 5-2 win over Fort Wayne. After the TinCaps went up 2-0, Osmy Gregorio tied the game with a home run in the third inning. In the seventh, he scored the go-ahead run on a wild pitch, and Kaleo Johnson then drove in two insurance runs with a double. Michael Plassmeyer allowed two runs in five innings.
