We’re just a week and a half into the season, but one emerging thing to watch is Vidal Brujan — shortstop. For the second time in a few days, he played shortstop. He had played second base exclusively since 2015 in the Dominican Summer League.
Triple-A Durham Bulls (3-5)
Durham used one big inning to earn a 4-3 win over Columbus. Through six innings, the Bulls were being shut out and had just three hits. In the seventh, they doubled their hit total and scored all four of their runs. Jake Cronenworth and Mac James each had RBI singles, and two more runs scored on an error. Aaron Slegers allowed a run in five innings.

Double-A Montgomery Biscuits (4-4)
Montgomery had chances but came up short in a 5-3 loss to Biloxi. The Biscuits outhit the Shuckers, 8-6, and also drew six walks, but they were just 2-for-10 with runners in scoring position and left 10 runners on base. Despite not allowing a hit, Dalton Moats opened and allowed two runs in two innings, and Kenny Rosenberg followed with a solid outing, allowing a run in five innings.

Charlotte dropped its fourth straight with a 7-1 loss to Palm Beach. Vidal Brujan led off the game with a walk, moved to third on a single, and scored on a sacrifice fly. The offense then checked out after that. Palm Beach scored twice in the third to go in front and added four more in the fifth. Paul Campbell allowed six runs in five innings.
