The Tampa Bay Rays have placed Blake Snell on the 10 day injured list. He has apparently fractured a toe.
No word from the Rays about when and how this injury occurred.

The IL designation is retroactive to Sunday. He is expected to miss one start. That start, of course, would have come against the Red Sox.
The Rays called up reliever Emilio Pagan to take Snell’s roster spot. Pagan was an offseason acquisition whose strong Spring Training put him in the running to break camp with the team. He was ultimately optioned to Durham but it is not surprising to see him get an early call-up.
It is unclear at this time how the Rays will manage their rotation this week.
