Welcome to SB Nation FanPulse, a survey of fans across MLB. Each week, we send 30 polls to plugged in fans from each team. Rays fans, sign up HERE to join FanPulse.
The Tampa Bay Rays are the best team in baseball.
They currently sport a 13-4 record, the largest division lead in the majors, and are playing incredibly — having won each of the series they have played thus far during the 2019 season.
Fittingly, Rays fans are about as confident as they can be in the direction of the team, with 97% of surveyed fans answering that they are confident. Meanwhile, the approval rating of Kevin Cash dipped a bit, but dropping from 100% to 97% isn’t that staggering of a drop.
Looking around the division, the behemoths that are the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox are off to disappointing starts. Fans of the Yankees have seen their confidence percentage dip all the way to 64% after starting the season at 91%, meanwhile fans of the Red Sox are also down to 64% after starting the year at 100%.
Yankee fans are also putting Aaron Boone on the chopping block, as the Yankees have failed to overcome numerous injuries thus far. Only 34% of fans surveyed, approve of Boone as the Yankees manager, the lowest mark in the majors.
On the national survey, fans were asked “When a team signs a young player to a long but under value contract, who gets the better deal?”
