Welcome to SB Nation FanPulse, a survey of fans across MLB. Each week, we send 30 polls to plugged in fans from each team. Rays fans, sign up HERE to join FanPulse.

There has always been debate in baseball over the beanball wars that have been a part of baseball since the games inception. A way of getting back at an opposing player or team, you drill a hitter as some sort of retaliation. Nowadays, the most common reason to get drilled is showing up the pitcher by flipping a bat after a homerun.

That was the question posed to those surveyed this past week:

“Is it ever okay for a pitcher to bean a batter?”

Meanwhile, in the ongoing question posed to Rays fans:

Are you confident in the direction of the team?

  • 98% confident
  • 2% not confident

Do you approve of Kevin Cash as the Manager?

  • 95% yes
  • 5% no

The confidence level is the highest it’s been over the five weeks of polling thus far, meanwhile Kevin Cash’s approval rating took a bit of a hit for the second week in a row.
