FanPost Friday: Bring back one former player

Let’s get the band back together!

Let me start by saying I have absolutely zero complaints about the current Rays roster and what they’ve put together to start the season. There’s not a single trade I’d take back (in spite of selecting a Jake Bauers cover image for this article) and not much I can imagine changing. The team is young, it’s exciting, and it’s a heck of a lot of fun to watch.

With that said, though, there are times when you look at the current team and think to yourself “yes, this is great, but it would be better if we had ________” in the mix still. Chris Archer, maybe, or our dear old friend Evan Longoria. Just that little bit of something extra that would make the current roster perfect, in your mind.

With that in mind we ask you: if you could bring back ANY former Rays player (doesn’t need to be an active player, even, could be anyone), who would you pull from the current roster and which former player would you slot in. You also need to explain why you made this choice. So if Archer is your choice, is it because you hate the Opener and miss having a traditional roster? Would you cut Ryne Stanek... you monster.

Head over to the FanPost section, select “New FanPost” on the left, then bring back the ghosts of seasons past.

We got quite a few responses to last week’s prompt to pick your five bold predictions for the coming season, and we’ll include some in the best of March and April later this month, but for now, a shot out to RaysOnRays for “Be Bold They Said: Rays Predictions 2019.”
