The Tampa Bay Rays have activated right-handed pitcher Hunter Wood off of the 10-day Injured List and have optioned right-handed pitcher Austin Pruitt to Triple-A Durham.

Wood rejoins the Rays after a short stint on the Injured List, due to a shoulder soreness. He has pitched in just four games for Tampa Bay this season, as he also spent some time on the Family Medical Emergency list as he left the team to be with his wife and newborn daughter.

During his four games, Wood has been scoreless over 6 13 innings pitched, striking out seven and walking a lone batter.

Austin Pruitt is back down to the minors. A frequenter on the Durham shuttle, Pruitt has been optioned five times already this season.

He has pitched in five games the Rays this year, allowing six runs on eight hits, while he’s walked two and struck out four over 7 13 innings pitched.

Infielder Matt Duffy is inching closer to making his return to the Rays active roster. Duffy, who was moved to the 60-day IL last week, is eligible to return on May 27th. He played in consecutive games for the first time all year on Wednesday and Thursday. Later on today, Duffy will play short stop for the Charlotte Stone Crabs as he continues to progress.
