The Tampa Bay Rays were victorious last night, thanks to the bats of Avisail Garcia and Austin Meadows, who both homered during the contest against the Toronto Blue Jays.
Garcia’s was of the inside-the-park variety as a routine flyball turned disastrous for the Blue Jays. Meanwhile, Austin Meadows kept us his season long hot streak with another longball, his 12th home run of the season. Although he isn’t among the qualifying league leaders, Meadows has the highest wRC+ (192) among players with at least 150 plate appearances.
Tonight, the Rays will go for the series sweep with the reigning AL Cy Young, Blake Snell going to the hill against Trent Thornton.
