The Rays’ veteran infielder has missed the entire season so far.

Charlotte added quite a bit of talent Friday. In addition to Matt Duffy’s rehab assignment, Ronaldo Hernandez came off the inactive list, and Tanner Dodson returned from the injured list.

Triple-A Durham Bulls (14-13)

Durham was crushed by Gwinnett, 11-3. Nick Solak’s sacrifice fly in the second actually gave the Bulls a 1-0 lead, but the Stripers scored the next eight runs to run away with the game. Jake Faria was charged with six runs in 4 13 innings, and all four Durham pitchers allowed runs.

SS Andrew Velazquez: 0-for-3 (.859)
2B Nick Solak: 0-for-3, 1 RBI, 1 K (.754)
3B Christian Arroyo: 1-for-4, 1 R, 1 HR, 1 RBI, 1 K (.885)

Double-A Montgomery Biscuits (17-10)

Montgomery held on for a 7-5 win over Mobile. Josh Lowe went deep in the first to make it a 1-0 game, and four more runs in the second gave the Biscuits a five-run lead. With the early run support, Kenny Rosenberg cruised to a strong start, striking out eight in six scoreless innings. The BayBears scored five off Tyler Zombro in two innings, but Curtis Taylor recorded a perfect ninth inning to maintain the lead.

CF Josh Lowe: 1-for-4, 2 R, 1 HR, 1 RBI, 1 BB, 2 K, 1 SB (.873)

Class A-Advanced Charlotte Stone Crabs (13-15)

Charlotte used four pitchers to shut out Jupiter, 5-0. In his first mound appearance since April 12, Dodson struck out two in three innings. Jhonleider Salinas matched him with three scoreless innings of his own, and Orlando Romero and Simon Rosenblum-Larson combined to finish the game. In his first game since April 22, Ronaldo Hernandez singled in a run in the first. Moises Gomez’s three-run homer in the ninth added insurance.

3B Matt Duffy: 0-for-3
2B Vidal Brujan: 0-for-4, 1 CS (.775)

Class-A Bowling Green Hot Rods (16-12)

Caleb Sampen’s great start was wasted in Bowling Green’s 2-1 loss to Peoria. The righty — who was acquired in the Jaime Schultz trade — had his best outing of the season, striking out eight in seven, one-hit innings. He was in line for the win after Jake Palomaki’s RBI single made it a 1-0 game in the top of the eighth, but the Chiefs scored twice off Nick Sprengel in the bottom half of the inning to go ahead.

SS Wander Franco: 0-for-4, 1 K (.908)

RHP Caleb Sampen: 7 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 8 K (3.76)
