Rays prospects and minor leagues: Poche has scoreless appearance

Colin Poche has been in need of solid outings.

Over his last four appearances, relief prospect Colin Poche has been a little better. Three of those outings have been scoreless, and in seven innings, he has 14 strikeouts, three walks, and six hits allowed. His ERA is 8.53, but it was as high as 19.29 in the middle of April.

Triple-A Durham Bulls (15-14)

Durham came back for a 6-2 win over Gwinnett. The Stripers scored twice in the top of the first, but they were limited to three hits over the final eight innings. Jason Coats’ solo homer in the third made it a 2-1 game, and the Bulls went ahead with three runs in the fourth. Aaron Slegers allowed two runs in four innings.

Double-A Montgomery Biscuits (19-10)

Montgomery earned a 4-2 win over Mobile. A half inning after the BayBears went up 1-0, the Biscuits scored three to take the lead for good. Jermaine Palacios singled in two runs, and Jesus Sanchez hit a sacrifice fly. Blake Bivens opened with two scoreless innings, and Benton Moss allowed a run in three innings of work.

Bowlin Green lost to Peoria, 11-3. The Chiefs scored five in the first and four in the eighth. The Hot Rods didn’t have a hit until the sixth inning. Starter Steffon Moore didn’t record an out, but Alan Strong pitched seven innings and only allowed two runs.
