With the conclusion of the Major League Baseball draft, prospect pundits have begun updating their rankings and with that, Wander Franco is receiving even more recognition.
FanGraphs is among the first to publish their newest rankings and they have moved Wander Franco to their top spot, giving him a Future Value of 70, one of only two players to receive such a high value, the other being Fernando Tatis Jr.
With FanGraphs update, the Rays feature nine players in their top 100, all of whom have FV’s at 50 or above.
- Wander Franco - 1st
- Brendan McKay - 12th
- Vidal Brujan - 22nd
- Jesus Sanchez - 41st
- Shane Baz - 66th
- Brent Honeywell - 69th
- Ronaldo Hernandez - 73rd
- Matthew Liberatore - 74th
- Nick Solak - 96th
Greg Jones, whom the Rays took with the 22nd overall selection in the draft comes in with a FV of 45, well outside of the top 100.
Wander Franco is an exceptional talent for the Tampa Bay Rays and figures to be the number one top prospect for most publications. The 18-year-old switch-hitting shortstop is currently playing for the Single-A Bowling Green Hot Rods and putting up some of the best offensive numbers in all of Single-A.
