The Rays landed on TCU 1B Jake Guenther for their seventh round selection, the team’s first senior selection.
Double digit homeruns and an ability to get on base are the leading characteristics for Guenther: .345/.462/.576 with 13 2B, 2 3B, 10 HR, 41 BB, 29 K, and 14 SB
That’s a great season for the former JUCO transfer. There’s some expectation he could play well in an outfield corner where, according to the MLB broadcast, his arm could be the limiting factor.
