Rays prospects and minor leagues: Chris Betts hits 15th homer of the season.

Matthew Liberatore has a strong 6.0 inning outing for Bowling Green.

Ronaldo Hernandez (Charlotte) hit a game winning single in extras. Chris Betts (Bowling Green) hit his 15th homer of the season. Matthew Liberatore (Bowling Green) threw 6.0 strong innings allowing two earned runs. Yunior Martinez (Princeton) had two homers including a walk-off.

Triple-A Durham Bulls (58-39)

The Durham Bulls defeated the Toledo Mud Hens 6-4. Dalton Kelly’s solo homer in the second tied the game at one. In the third Matt Duffy tied the game at two with a sacrifice fly. A wild pitch allowed Joe McCarthy to score and take a 3-2 lead later that inning. In the third the Bulls tacked on three runs on a sacrifice fly by Jesus Sanchez and RBI singles by McCarthy and Duffy.

Class A-Advanced Charlotte Stone Crabs (57-36)

The Charlotte Stone Crabs defeated the St. Lucie Mets 4-3 in extras. Garrett Whitley homered to put the Stone Crabs on the board first. After falling behind 2-1 Ronaldo Hernandez tied the game with a RBI single in the sixth. Down by one in the ninth Jermaine Palacios came through with a RBI single to tie the game. In the tenth Hernandez plated the winning run with a RBI single.

Some might say Wander Franco has had a good season.

The Bowling Green Hot Rods lost to the Kan County Cougars 6-5. Ford Proctor’s RBI double and an error tied the game at two in the fifth. Roberto Alvarez brought home the tying run in the sixth with a RBI groundout. Chris Betts homered and Grant Witherspoon tacked on a RBI single to take a 5-3 lead in the eighth. Kane County scored three in the bottom of the ninth to walk it off.

The Princeton Rays defeated the Kingsport Mets 7-6. Luis Leon put the Rays on the board with a two-run homer in the first inning. In the second the Rays extended the lead to 4-0 when two runs scored on an error. Yunior Martinez tacked on a solo homer to extend the lead to 5-2 in the fourth. Diego Infante added on a solo homer in the sixth to extend the lead to 6-4. Martinez walked it off with his second homer of the game.
