Class A-Advanced Charlotte Stone Crabs (68-46)

The Charlotte Stone Crabs defeated the Daytona Tortugas 3-2. Ronaldo Hernandez put the Stone Crabs up early with a first inning sacrifice fly. In the second Moises Gomez hit his 14th homer of the season to give the Stone Crabs a 2-0 lead. In the eighth the Tortugas tied the game, but the Stone Crabs scored the game winning run on a throwing error in the top of the ninth. Michael Plassmeyer threw 7.0 innings while allowing one unearned run.

The Bowling Green Hot Rods defeated the Great Lakes Loons 4-1. The Hot Rods put up four runs in the first inning on a two-run homer by Jordan Qsar and two run error. Zack Trageton struck out nine in 5.0 scoreless innings.

Short Season Princeton Rays (25-27)

The Princeton Rays defeated the Johnson City Cardinals 4-2. Nick Schnell’s RBI groundout put the Rays up 1-0 through the first. Kevin Melendez’s RBI single in the second extended the lead to 2-0. In the third Brett Wisely’s two-run homer capped off the scoring for the night and gave the Rays an early 4-0 lead.

The DSL Rays 1 were shutout 4-0 by the DSL Red Sox 1. Cristopher Barete managed the only extra base hit with a double. It was one of only three hits collected by the Rays 1 offense.

The DSL Rays 2 defeated the DSL Red Sox 2 3-1. The Rays 2 fell behind in the top of the fourth, but promptly tied the game on a Yonathan Pierre sacrifice fly in the bottom of the inning. Dahiandy Johnson’s RBI double gave the Rays 2 a 2-1 lead in the fifth. They added an insurance run on a passed ball later in the frame.
