Joe Ryan was promoted to Double-A Montgomery Tuesday. He hasn’t pitched since Aug. 7, so he could make his Biscuits debut any game now. With 159 strikeouts and a 1.79 ERA in 110 13 innings, he’s been one of the top pitchers in the minors all season.

Triple-A Durham Bulls (68-52)

Durham erased an early deficit in a 9-6 win over Syracuse. The Mets led 4-0 after one inning, but Kevin Padlo’s three-run homer in the second cut into that lead. To the surprise of no one, MLB.com’s Jonathan Mayo identified Greg Jones as one of the 2019 draft picks off to a good start in professional ball.

Nick Schnell and the recently promoted Joe Ryan were on both MLB.com’s prospect team of the week and Baseball America’s Hot Sheet.
