As we noted Tuesday, two former Rays prospects debuted for the Rangers in their doubleheader. In Game 1, Nick Solak debuted and went 1-for-3. In Game 2, Brock Burke debuted with six scoreless innings, and Solak hit his first big league home run.

He was supported by early offense. Taylor Walls hit an RBI single in the first, and Carl Chester later drove in two with a triple. After the Shuckers scored in the fifth, the Biscuits closed the game with four unanswered runs.

Class A-Advanced Charlotte Stone Crabs (42-18)
Offense was in short supply in Charlotte’s 13-inning, 4-2 loss to Fort Myers. Somehow, neither team was able to take advantage of the free baserunner in the first three extra innings, and then the Miracle blew the game open with three in the 13th. With two outs in the 13th, Ronaldo Hernandez’s RBI single finally got the Stone Crabs a run in extras, but it wasn’t enough. Cristopher Sanchez allowed a run in 4 1⁄3 innings.

Class-A Bowling Green Hot Rods (34-23)
Bowling Green had one big inning and held on for a 6-5 win over Fort Wayne. After accomplishing very little through six innings, the Hot Rods broke out for six in the seventh to take a 6-1 lead. A run scored on an error, then Chris Betts, Seaver Whalen, and Ford Proctor all hit RBI singles. The final run scored on a wild pitch. Shane Baz had another fine start, striking out seven and allowing just an unearned run in five innings.
CF Nick Schnell: 1-for-4, 1 R, 1 K (.423)

The Rays’ free runner again scored in the 11th, but they never got the potential tying run on base. Matthew Peguero started and threw two scoreless innings.

In the bottom of the ninth, Luis Arcendo reached on a bunt single, and Huffins hit a walk-off RBI double. Franklin Dacosta was charged with an unearned run in three innings, and Dauris Cordero struck out eight in four scoreless frames out of the bullpen.
