2019 Rays Walk-up Music Bracket: Round 1

Year three of this tradition

MLB: Miami Marlins at Tampa Bay Rays Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

Welcome to Year 3 of this becoming-annual tradition here at DRB. The premise is simple: Who has the best walk-up music on the team? Thanks to the extreme turnover this team seems to have year after year, the pool has actually been quite different each year. Plus, the beauty of solving debates with brackets is that they can change so much every time you do one. Honestly, I may only write bracket-themed articles from now on, they’re so much fun.

All right, on to the voting, as we did last year, we are simply starting with all eligible candidates, because there was the perfect number of 32 walk-ups listed on the Rays official walk-up music database at MLB.com. (For players with more than one song listed, I did use my executive overreach to decide which song to include.)

Let’s get this started!

Round 1 Matchups

Willy Adames: “Sigo Siendo El Papa” by Silvestre Dangond

Yandy Diaz: “Zero” by Farruko

Brief Thoughts: I really like the vibe of the “Zero” music video, but Willy’s walk-up is catchy as all get out. I could see this song making a nice little run.

Jesus Aguilar: “Si Se Da” by Myke Towers

Tommy Pham: “Freestyle” by Lil Baby

Brief Thoughts: Neither of these do too much for me, so I’ll lean towards Tommy since he’s got seniority over the newly acquired Aguilar.
