It is Wander Franco season in baseball as another site has released their top prospect rankings entering the 2020 season and Wander Franco again sits atop the list.
Baseball Prospectus released their top-101 prospects and the list features six members of the Rays organization. Wander Franco tops the list with Brendan McKay, Shane Baz, Shane McClanahan, Vidal Brujan, and the recently acquired Xavier Edwards all placing elsewhere on the list.
1. Wander Franco, SS
28. Brendan McKay, LHP/DH
30. Shane Baz, RHP
71. Shane McClanahan, LHP
73. Vidal Brujan, 2B
95. Xavier Edwards, SS
Franco has now been ranked the number one prospect in all of baseball by MLB Pipeline, Baseball America, and now Baseball Prospectus. An impressive achievement for the Rays “wanderkind,” who turns 19 in March.
Of note: The recently traded Matthew Liberatore was ranked No. 50 overall, while Jesus Sanchez was slotted in at 80th overall.
Prospect Greg Jones, the Rays first round draft pick from 2019, is the next prospect on the BPro team list. He was not noted on their ten just-missed list.
