There is a new all-time leader in the Tampa Bay Rays record books as Tyler Glasnow has surpassed David Price for the most strikeouts in the postseason.
Glasnow has appeared in nine postseason games for the Rays, with his first appearance coming during game one of the 2019 American League Division Series and his latest outing coming during game four of the American League Championship Series. In that most recent outing, Glasnow recorded five strikeouts, to give him a total of 33 in the postseason for Tampa Bay.
Overall this postseason, Tyler Glasnow has pitched in four games for the Rays; over 19 1⁄3 innings pitched, Glasnow has a 31.3 K% and a 10.0 BB%, allowing 10 runs on 17 hits, including six homeruns.
David Price previously held the record with a mark of 30 punchouts during his time with the Rays in the playoffs in 2008, 2010 to 2011, and then in 2013.
Charlie Morton and Blake Snell are the only active Rays that are near Glasnow, with 24 and 22 strikeouts respectively.
