We're not often critical of Kevin Cash on these podcasts. Not because we don’t want to be, but because we haven’t really had many reasons to be critical. The way he managed the pitching staff in Game 1 though is definitely the biggest talking point of the night. You can debate over whether or not the decisions he made were the right decisions, but the bottom line is that it didn’t feel like a Kevin Cash-managed game.
Tyler Glasnow hitting a career-high 112 pitches in the World Series? And this wasn’t sending him back out for the ninth to finish a no-hitter, it was a game where he ended up walking six batters and being responsible for six of the Dodgers’ eight runs.
The Rays could have been in this game if they wanted to, and the series is very much not over, so all I’ll say is, “We’re not mad, we’re just disappointed.”
