EXHALE. After a stellar performance from the Stable, the Rays and Yankees are tied at one game a piece in the ALDS.
Aaron Boone tried to pull a fast one when he yanked his starter (or opener) after the first inning and let the Rays tee off on J.A. Happ. With a performances as strong as Diego Castillo’s and Nick Anderson’s, home runs from Mike Zunino and Manuel Margot almost go unnoticed. Those big home runs made it a 5-1 ball game, and the Rays never looked back.
Of course, Randy Arozarena homered again, because that’s what Randy Arozarena does. Austin Meadows in the leadoff spot? He gets a home run too. We’ve said it before, but you know you’re a Rays fan when you talk about four scoreless from the bullpen before you talk about four home runs.
Game 3. Tonight. Uncle Charlie F’in Morton. Let’s go.
