Losing baseball will hit hard for many today, on what would have been the start of play for a very promising season.
The Rays were anticipated to be a very good team on Opening Day 2020 — ESPN ranked Tampa Bay fourth in their hypothetical power rankings for Game 1 of the year this morning. Fans may feel hurt or upset to not have the flappy boys taking the field.
And the Rays feel it too.
To honor what would have been Opening Day, the team released a powerful video reflecting on the magic of Rays baseball and the great feelings we all shared in 2019, while also acknowledging the shared burden we all carry to keep each other safe in this dangerous time.
On what would have been Opening Day, we just want to say...

We miss you too, Rays.
