For the past season and a half, the Rays have been riddled with pitching injuries, and it has seemingly increased this season, which given the record of 24-11 is amazing the Rays’ pitching staff has done as well so far.
Besides the 1-2 punch of Snell and Glasnow, the staff has been decimated and even now this list from Jeff Passan two days ago is outdated and not complete.
Here's how many pitching injuries the Rays have: I cannot fit all of them in 280 characters.

Yes, the Yankees have been battered all season. But the fact that the pitching staff for the Rays has been decimated and they are still 22-11 and atop the AL East says a lot about them. pic.twitter.com/Md4Bc7ScTk

To make up for the lost arms the Rays have traded for two pitchers in Edgar Garcia and Cody Reed. To make room for the former, LHP Anthony Banda has been designated for assignment.
READ: MLB Trade Deadline: Who are the Rays top trade targets?
For the Honeywell stans (myself included), it doesn’t look like we will have a Honey Day in 2020, but never say never!
With McKay and Honeywell on option to minors, with McKay out for season and Honeywell unlikely (though not impossible) to pitch in MLB this year, #Rays are essentially playing with 38 man roster. Could “call up” either and put on MLB IL but they’d get MLB service time and pay

It is amazing the Rays’ have gotten this far with all the listed injuries. Banda’s DFA will help the Rays clear room for more trades... presumably. If he is picked up on waivers the Rays should have another trade deal to come.
