DRB Podcast Special: All-Time Rays Player Draft, Part 1

We’re in the home stretch of the offseason, and the DRB crew wanted to wrap up the winter with a HUGE DRaysBay Podcast Special: the All-Time Rays Player Draft. We got 12 writers from the site together on one Zoom call, where we drafted the greatest and most beloved Rays of all time. You’ll hear names you remember, and some you don’t. You’ll recall fond memories of these players in their primes, and cringe at others because hey, it’s the Rays.

The premise was simple. Fill out a 16-player roster (each position across the diamond, plus DH, plus seven pitchers) with a balance of each individual’s most beloved and best Rays, ever. Every player to don a Rays jersey even once was eligible, and at the end of it all, you will get to decide who has drafted the best All-Time Rays team.

Enjoy the first nine rounds of our draft, and tomorrow we’ll have Part 2 with rounds 9-16. Once both podcasts are out, we’ll take to Twitter to determine the winner. The teams will be split into three groups, with the top four in polling advancing to the playoff.
