The Rays dropped a 4-3 decision yesterday, but who cares? Let’s get to real baseball.
Trevor Richards pitched. He did not impress John Romano.
Not really. Just every so often I wake up. For instance, Trevor Richards has now given up another 2-run homer.

Chaz Roe also pitched He looked good! Just ask Taylin!

Tyler Glasnow really wants to hit to get ready for the season opener in Miami. Kevin Cash is ... less enthusiastic.
Tyler Glasnow has been begging Kevin Cash to let him hit in games all spring. Glasnow took swings in the cage the other day, preparing for Opening Day in Miami, then texted Cash last night asking if he could hit during his backfield start today.

Cash's response: "Wrong number."
At 39, Tyler Glasnow makes the back half of the ESPN top 50. (Blake Snell also on the list at 36.)

There’s a new Kiermaier! With an unusual name! Congrats, KK and Marisa!
A wake up call at 4:30 from my 9 month pregnant wife could only mean one thing! Hopped in my truck asap and come 8:01 a.m. our beautiful baby boy Krew Jax Kiermaier was introduced to the world! 9 lbs 14 oz! So blessed to have this lil guy!

We talked about this one a lot in the masthead Slack. I’ll not poison the waterhole with our disparate takes. But if nothing else, this piece could generate conversation.

More cuts. Somehow, David Hess isn’t one of them.
#Rays reassign 8 more players to minors: Stetson Allie, Chris Ellis, Dietrich Enns, Adrian De Horta, Joey Krehbiel, Ryan Boldt, Tristan Gray, Rene Pinto

The sugar high of Honeywell’s return to the mound has probably worn off. So here’s one more clip to dream on.

For those of you wondering what the WWE was going to do once Rays baseball kicks back into gear at the Trop, it looks like Raw and Smackdown will be relocating to the USF Yuengling Center.
The expectation among multiple people I have spoken to in #WWE is they will remain in the Tampa area after the Tropicana Field ThunderDome ends ahead of the #Rays season. They all believe they are headed to #USF’s Yuengling Center (fka the Sun Dome) for at least a period of time.

20 years ago yesterday...
Twenty years ago, a bird darted in front of a Randy Johnson fastball. It exploded into a cloud of feathers, an image burned in the minds of those who saw it.

Old friend alert:
Lots of #BlueJays news this afternoon, starting with GM Ross Atkins saying Kirby Yates “most likely” headed for Tommy John surgery. Atkins said team knew it was a high-risk, high-reward play when they signed him.
— Shi Davidi (@ShiDavidi) March 23, 2021
Yates wasn’t the only injury the last couple days. Also going down were Robbie Ray, George Springer, Kyle Freeland, Zac Gallen, Khris Davis, and Fernando Tatis Jr.
Okay, so he doesn’t exactly come out and say it. But can we all agree that Trevor Bauer would be the least surprising anti-vaxer in baseball?
