Rays Your Voice: Rays take two out of three in Miami, guests Matt Collins and Austin Reimann

Austin Meadows, career DH.

Baseball is officially back, which means I don’t have to pretend to care about Spring Training box scores anymore. It also means this show can get back to its original format, where we recap the goings on of the week gone by, and take a look ahead at what the Rays will be coming up against this week.

Matt Collins from Over the Monster joins the show to give listeners a better idea of what to expect from the Red Sox in 2021, as the Rays head to Fenway park for a three-game set this week. After a last place finish a year ago, there’s reason to believe the Red Sox are starting to put the pieces back together.

Host of the new Rays Unrestricted Podcast (@RaysBHMPodcast) Austin Reimann also joins the show this week. We discuss Chris Archer’s shaky first outing and why the Rays might be better suited to let “Deuce Deuce” get a traditional start his next turn through the rotation. It was great watching Austin Meadows mash baseballs this weekend, but his defensive capabilities might limit him to a DH role for most of the season. Austin discuss that and more before taking a stab at how the Rays might fare this week against two division rivals.
