Japan topped the U.S. in the gold medal game.

The U.S. came up short in its quest for gold, but it was still a good showing in baseball’s first appearance in the Olympics since 2008. Shane Baz had a rough appearance, but it was certainly valuable experience. Former Rays Edwin Jackson, Scott Kazmir, and Joe Ryan were also on the team.

Baseball America updated its Rays top 30 last week, so the players guaranteed to be featured in each weekly update have changed a bit. DRaysBay is also working on an updated top 30.
