Astros’ Jeremy Peña Drew A Huge Crowd To A Houston Raising Cane’s

Hundreds of Astros fans packed Raising Cane’s in southeast Houston on Monday, lining up to see World Series MVP Jeremy Peña as he traded his shortstop’s mitt for a cashier’s shift at the Louisiana-based chicken chain. Many people got in line Monday morning, sacrificial work, class and school in hopes of getting a picture or autograph and score some chicken if they could. Some had started camping out Sunday morning. "It was optional. I’m from Houston and just the fact that we won the World Series it’s tradition for the community to show out like this," said Sarah Tijerina. She tagged along with her friend of five years, Eneida Dickerson, whom she said is "obsessed" with Peña. "This is her Johnny Depp," Tijerina said as the two put on their makeup from their Nissan Rogue parked blocks away along Gulf Freeway. "He’s gorgeous. He’s 25. He’s Dominican. I fell in love," Dickerson said.
